Re-Hash

Re-Hash es la primera canción del álbum Gorillaz. Es descrita en Rise of the Ogre como una "gloriosa canción alegre de apertura para el álbum".

Historia y grabación

2-D y Murdoc Niccals escribieron la canción. Murdoc escribió frases aleatorias (una de ellas AñOñA)usando imanes mientras 2D las arrojaba al refrigerador. Las frases que resultaron de esto fueron utilizados en la canción.

Damon Albarn ayudó a 2D a cantar con mayor confianza, y según Russel Hobbs, esto "le hizo perder el sonido fino de los primeros ensayos".

Los coros fueron proporcionados por Noodle así como por Miho Hatori.

Para el bajo, Murdoc sumergió el amplificador su bajo en una pecera en el piso de arriba. Luego, llevaron el micrófono al techo de abajo. Según él, es debido a esto que la línea de bajo suena tan sorda.

2D añadió un sitar roto para añadirle esa "pizca extra de rareza" a la canción.

Murdoc caminó a un patio de juego, amarró a un grupo de niños con un lazo y los intimidó para que cantaran.

Kid Koala ayudó a Russel con los magnetófonos.
